In July, Handtmann Armaturenfabrik celebrated the successful commissioning of a lactoferrin production plant.
The customer is the Poland-based Polmlek Group, which operates 15 dairies and employs 5,000 people. In May 2017, a factory for the production of dairy protein concentrate was opened at the Lidzbark Warminski site, which processes 3 million liters of milk per day.
Our chromatography plant with 2 x 3 radial flow columns and elution, which is fully equipped with Handtmann valve technology, is used there. The lactoferrin is separated from the milk in the columns with the aid of a carrier material - known as resin - and collected and extracted using elution. This results in high-purity lactoferrin.
The engineering, which is individually adapted to the local conditions, and the control of the process are also provided by us. Polmlek honored the performance of the Handtmann team with a follow-up order immediately after acceptance.
